I know my kids go through 'crafty phases' where as some kids are just permanent craft creators! Well imagine receiving a craft box with everything you need in it for lots of projects, with no left over packets of ribbon, string, googly eyes, paint, ice cream sticks etc etc and you don't even have to shop for it!! Making craft at home can have so many benefits for kids, obviously creativity, but also increasing their attention span, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and good old fun! Can you imagine the look on your little one's face if they got a package addressed to them full of craft goodness? Well two clever Melbourne Mums from My Creative Box have come up with a solution, because who has time to hunt for templates, materials or even to come up with idea's?!?! You can order a box and it is full of craft goodness, with an overview sheet of all the projects and a picture of the finished products too! ![]() These Mum's are super organised and everything is meticulously packed. Each project from My Creative box is individually packaged and includes EVERYTHING and i mean everything! It has instructions and ALL the materials needed to complete the activity. It's great how you can just complete one activity at a time and keep the rest neatly in the box, As as all good crafty kids do, you can even use the box at the end to create a masterpiece!! Step by Step instructions are provided, so kids can easily follow along themselves or ask for a bit of help. So even if you don't have a 'crafty kid' these activities have a clear end point, so I think these boxes would be loved by all. The original boxes are designed for 3-6 year olds, but as we all know little siblings always like to join in - so a toddler box designed for 18months to 3 years has also been introduced! Each box is $35 or you can choose the monthly subscription offer which is only $30 per month.
Why not give it a go for a month and see what you think? Check all the details at www.mycreativebox.com.au and pre-order your October box (pre-order released in the first two weeks of the month). P.S pick up is also available from 3015 Newport, VIC, Happy Crafting! Monica x

I've being using the Melbourne Entertainment book for over 10 years, so I was a little excited when I discovered there was a new Bali version! I have saved money over the years on dinners, play centres, take away food, family day outs and just a simple loaf of bread - and it's very similar for the Bali version. I often tell my friends that you get your 'money's worth' in the first couple of uses and then all the additional savings are a bonus! Most families I know who head to Bali make a visit to Waterbom Park. The family can spend the whole day there and we saved A$32 (as a family of 4) from the Entertainment Book on entry. Although you probably have a lovely pool at your hotel, nothing beats the thrills and exhilaration of all the water slides, although I have to admit my favourite had to be the lazy river!! There is also a fantastic kids area with smaller slides and a tipping bucket. Tip - get there early if you want to secure a cabana but there are plently of comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas. The Entertainment Book offers 100,000RP (approx. A$10) off full price adult tickets and 70,000RP (approx. A$7) off any full price child tickets up to 4 people.
Have you ever taken a trip to the doctors when it was impossible for the doctor to check your child's throat because they refused to open their mouth have the wooden stick and have the doctor stick their whole head in their mouth to check it out? Have you ever had a sick child and really just wanted to look at their throat yourself? Have you ever wanted to see in your child's mouth to see if those teeth have popped through yet? WELL now you can...... ![]() Thanks to a very clever Australian Mum who went through an experience with her child that gave he the brainwave. She had to restrain her child at the doctors and hold them down, while the doctor had the wooden tongue depressor and penlight to check out their throat. After the traumatic experience Jennifer thought of the simple and clever idea of the all-in-one plastic depressor with built in light!! You may have seen Jennifer on the Shark Tank or even on the Today Show. ![]() We all love receiving the new school photo each year and so do the grandparents! Our Primary School takes their photos in the first couple of weeks of school, so the new haircut they got on the holidays is captured and they are still fresh and happy, hopefully! We don't have many 'notches' on our belt yet collecting photo's, but our hall table is almost full with just two kids from gymbaroo, kinder and school. Yes we try and avoid it at all costs, but for most of us it's not possible to avoid! When I had newborn babies I tried online shopping, but found I missed lots of things when I placed my order. Although I usually have a shopping list when I hit the shops I always add items as I shop - which I found hard to do online. My hot tips when shopping with a toddler or any child really:
![]() I discovered the OnTray a couple of years ago and haven't looked back. I purchased from the USA and found so many people were stopping me at the supermarket asking where I purchased from. I then realised how much everyone else loved the OnTray too and decided to import them from the USA - hence Thanks Mum was born. The first achievement and excitement is when your little one can read a digital clock, sometimes it's not always a great thing because then they know they are going to bed early etc. The next step is to get kids to tell the time from an analogue watch, although there is no rush I know my kids love looking at the big clock we have in our house with great interest.
As with a lot of learning, there is always a tool to help kids learn a new skill. I discovered the EasyRead time teacher, with a fabulous design to teach kids a fun and EASY way to learn the time! We all like to TRY and keep toys tidy in the play room / kids room etc, but it's always an effort for kids and parents! Lego and Duplo have always been one of the biggest issues in our toy room, but now the boys have been using the Play Pouch to create, play and store their lego!! The biggest advantage according to my kids is when I tell them to pack up, they think they are hilarious as they are packed up in seconds when using the Play Pouch as they simply just pull on the rope and they are DONE!
Ok so your kids love to colour in, but how about the concept of colouring in over and over again? It still amazes me the products I stumble across and the amazing people creating these products! The Colour Thrown Down mat / picnic rug provides hours of entertainment and once it's finished (this will take a while) it can be washed and re-used!!!
Over the years there has been many favourite toys played with over and over again, from dinosaurs, Duplo, Lego to figurines. Over the last 2 months, with no word of a lie, the first toy my boys run to is their kick bricks!
You would think a tote bag is generally for the beach, but I have taken my Mooleii bags to so many places I am declaring it the 'everything bag'. On a recent holiday to Tasmania other than taking the 'everything' Mooleii bag to the beach, it was also used at the supermarket for our groceries, taken to the showers at the camp ground and just as my handbag for drink bottles and everything else I had to lug around. ![]() |
